Christmas 2008

We hope everyone had a beautiful Christmas!

From Christmas 08

Eric and I opened each other's gifts at our apartment and then drove up to the Woodlands and spent a nice, relaxing day at my parents' yesterday. It wasn't the same as being in Michigan, of course (75 degrees?!), but it was a nice day. We miss you all!

Mom made a delicious dinner of prime rib and we all thoroughly stuffed ourselves. We then relaxed and watched A Christmas Story, our tradition. It was Eric's first time seeing it!

Not much going on in the baby department. Lennon is due in five days and is showing no signs of wanting to come out. I guess he didn't want to have to share his birthday with Christmas and get gypped on gifts! Haha :)

39 Weeks....blah

Thirty-nine weeks. My official due date is a mere seven days away. I wish I could say we'd be having a Christmas baby, but it seems Lennon is quite comfortable in there (...even though I'm not. At all.) and isn't in any hurry to get out any time soon (despite extensive effort on my part).

No one can say "he'll come out when he's ready!" anymore, because he IS ready. He's just being stubborn now.

At this point....all I want for Christmas is for my heartburn to go away.

Hope everyone's having a good Christmas Eve...I'm sure I'll talk to most of you tomorrow.

Not huge after all...

Today I had a doctor's appointment. Lennon is measuring 6lbs, 3oz according to the ultrasound...so he's not a gigantic freakshow baby like the doctor wanted me to believe last week. He's measuring at a completely normal weight for how far along I am. His heartbeat is healthy, everything else is healthy, and his mama is healthy. I'm good to go for a normal delivery. Could be any time...

Here's a picture from the ultrasound today. He looks so much like Eric!

New Camera

Eric and I received our Christmas present to each other today. We got a great Black Friday deal online for a Nikon D80 digital SLR camera.

It's going to take some time to learn how to use it to the best of it's potential, but here's one I took a few minutes out of the box:

Big Boy

Tis the season!

From Christmas 2008

Of course, as I type this, it's 79 degrees and humid outside. We did have some pretty cold weather the past few days, and we even had to turn the heat on overnight!

Now that I've reached that elusive 9th month of pregnancy, I started my once-a-week doctor's appointments yesterday. According to the doctor's estimate, Lennon is already 7 to 7.5 pounds. I'm not due for almost another month! She says I should expect him to be around 9 pounds at birth if I make it to 40 weeks. WOW that's scary.

My body is getting ready, she said, and already showing a little bit of progress towards labor. It could be any time! Maybe we'll have a Christmas baby after all?

MY Mommy!

From Family

Brody's been very possessive lately...I think he knows he's getting a brother soon!

We're all doing fairly well. Eric has been working hard this week on a project at work, and I've been dealing with a cold for the past few days. Nothing big to report. Hope everyone's doing well!

33 weeks

Is it time yet?

From Kris's Pregnancy

I have my bag packed, am pre-registered, have gone on a tour of the birth center...yeah. I'm ready, Lennon just isn't yet. Only 6 or 7 weeks to go! (Or 5...I wouldn't complain about 5...it's the 8 or 9 I might have a problem with...)

All in all, I feel okay. I'm pretty achy, that's my main issue. I feel him move almost constantly these days, and I can tell he's running out of room in there. The clock is ticking...

I'm off to my 33 week doctor's appointment!

YES WE CAN!!!

From Randoms

Needless to say, Eric and I are incredibly happy and excited over the election of our new president! We were glued to the tv all evening on Tuesday, cheering loudly whenever President-Elect Obama won a state. At precisely 11:00pm, it was announced that Barack Obama had won the presidency. We both got pretty teary-eyed. We're so happy that change is happening and that our Lennon will get to experience a better country than we have! For the first time in my life, I can say I'm PROUD to be an American.
