Christmas 2008

We hope everyone had a beautiful Christmas!

From Christmas 08

Eric and I opened each other's gifts at our apartment and then drove up to the Woodlands and spent a nice, relaxing day at my parents' yesterday. It wasn't the same as being in Michigan, of course (75 degrees?!), but it was a nice day. We miss you all!

From Christmas 08

Mom made a delicious dinner of prime rib and we all thoroughly stuffed ourselves. We then relaxed and watched A Christmas Story, our tradition. It was Eric's first time seeing it!

Not much going on in the baby department. Lennon is due in five days and is showing no signs of wanting to come out. I guess he didn't want to have to share his birthday with Christmas and get gypped on gifts! Haha :)

39 Weeks....blah

Thirty-nine weeks. My official due date is a mere seven days away. I wish I could say we'd be having a Christmas baby, but it seems Lennon is quite comfortable in there (...even though I'm not. At all.) and isn't in any hurry to get out any time soon (despite extensive effort on my part).

No one can say "he'll come out when he's ready!" anymore, because he IS ready. He's just being stubborn now.

At this point....all I want for Christmas is for my heartburn to go away.

Hope everyone's having a good Christmas Eve...I'm sure I'll talk to most of you tomorrow.

Not huge after all...

Today I had a doctor's appointment. Lennon is measuring 6lbs, 3oz according to the ultrasound...so he's not a gigantic freakshow baby like the doctor wanted me to believe last week. He's measuring at a completely normal weight for how far along I am. His heartbeat is healthy, everything else is healthy, and his mama is healthy. I'm good to go for a normal delivery. Could be any time...

Here's a picture from the ultrasound today. He looks so much like Eric!

New Camera

Eric and I received our Christmas present to each other today. We got a great Black Friday deal online for a Nikon D80 digital SLR camera.

It's going to take some time to learn how to use it to the best of it's potential, but here's one I took a few minutes out of the box:

Big Boy

Tis the season!

From Christmas 2008

Of course, as I type this, it's 79 degrees and humid outside. We did have some pretty cold weather the past few days, and we even had to turn the heat on overnight!

Now that I've reached that elusive 9th month of pregnancy, I started my once-a-week doctor's appointments yesterday. According to the doctor's estimate, Lennon is already 7 to 7.5 pounds. I'm not due for almost another month! She says I should expect him to be around 9 pounds at birth if I make it to 40 weeks. WOW that's scary.

My body is getting ready, she said, and already showing a little bit of progress towards labor. It could be any time! Maybe we'll have a Christmas baby after all?

MY Mommy!

From Family

Brody's been very possessive lately...I think he knows he's getting a brother soon!

We're all doing fairly well. Eric has been working hard this week on a project at work, and I've been dealing with a cold for the past few days. Nothing big to report. Hope everyone's doing well!

33 weeks

Is it time yet?

From Kris's Pregnancy

I have my bag packed, am pre-registered, have gone on a tour of the birth center...yeah. I'm ready, Lennon just isn't yet. Only 6 or 7 weeks to go! (Or 5...I wouldn't complain about 5...it's the 8 or 9 I might have a problem with...)

All in all, I feel okay. I'm pretty achy, that's my main issue. I feel him move almost constantly these days, and I can tell he's running out of room in there. The clock is ticking...

I'm off to my 33 week doctor's appointment!

YES WE CAN!!!

Needless to say, Eric and I are incredibly happy and excited over the election of our new president! We were glued to the tv all evening on Tuesday, cheering loudly whenever President-Elect Obama won a state. At precisely 11:00pm, it was announced that Barack Obama had won the presidency. We both got pretty teary-eyed. We're so happy that change is happening and that our Lennon will get to experience a better country than we have! For the first time in my life, I can say I'm PROUD to be an American.

Brrr! ....almost

Today's high was about 70 degrees! And last night got down into the 50s!!! It's feeling like fall! Eric's cold, though. Awww...

Gramma wanted to see Eric's pictures with Barack Obama, so here they are (click to make bigger):

Super exciting, huh? Well with Obama leading McCain 52% to 39%... we think it's pretty exciting ;)

Today marks 30 weeks of pregnancy! Oh joy. I'm aching pretty bad. I'm hoping the next 8 to 10 weeks fly by!

I'll leave you with a lovely picture so you can see how huge I'm getting:

It's official, we're having a chipmunk!

LOOK at those CHEEKS! Wow...

This is really the only good picture we got. Fortunately, we get to go back in two weeks for another session for free to get some more shots. He was really sleepy, and kept moving his head away.

We did find out that he has hair on his head! I knew it, with this heartburn...

I think he looks like his daddy...

Wedding Stuff

We finally brought our stuff back from the wedding. It was sitting in Kris' parents office, then garage for a while. We were planning on bringing it back with us, but after the hurricane and all, we got it back on our three-month anniversary.

Thanks again to all of you that came in..!

We also just got a new curio cabinet for everything, so here's a picture of our wedding stuff set up!

27 Week Ultrasound

I had my first appointment with my new doctor last week. She's great! So much better than my last doctor. Eric and I are really happy with her.

And since I was a new patient, they did an ultrasound! I know there's a few of you waiting for these pictures :)

These are fun but NEXT week is the really exciting part... I'm having a 3D ultrasound! So check back next Wednesday night for 3D pictures of our little Lennon!

Michigan!

Eric, my mom, and flew up to Michigan on September 25th. The flight was uneventful (which is always good). We had a great time staying with aunt Nancy and uncle Phil and seeing everyone! It was fun showing Eric around where I grew up, too.

On Friday, we (Nancy, my mom, Eric, and I) took my cousin Lisa's kids Steven and Ryan to Apple Charlie's. It was tons of fun, especially watching the kids (Eric included) pick apples. The donuts and cider weren't half bad either...

Saturday was the shower, and it was absolutely awesome. Thank you SO MUCH Gramma, Nancy, Robin, and Lisa!!! It was really beautiful, both the building (The Trenton Hotel Grill) and the decorations. Lennon got tons of awesome stuff, and his closet is bursting with adorable clothes that I can't wait to dress him in. He's going to be one stylin' baby.

I don't have many pictures from the shower, so if you have some good ones, please pass them along to us!

Nursery!

So I think the nursery is pretty much done! There's a couple of things we still need to get, like a changing pad and diaper pail and stuff, but it's all decorated.

Click on the "Nursery" link underneath the picture to see more pictures of Lennon's room!

We want to thank everyone again for all of the AWESOME stuff for Lennon! It was such a great shower, and we love everything we got (and I'm sure he will too)!

We've ordered an enlargement of this picture, taken at Strawberry Fields in Central Park on our honeymoon. It will go above Lennon's crib.

More later, still need to post about the Michigan trip.

We're back from Michigan! The trip and the baby shower was awesome, I'll write more about it tomorrow when I'm not so tired. Today we got Lennon's furniture, just wanted to share!

Post Hurricane

Hi guys!

I wanna thank Kristina for this awesome idea, both so we have a communications channel with all of you, as well as the fact that we'll have a journal of us being together.

All in all, we did pretty well. We evacuated our apartment to Kris' parents house on Thursday, when I worked remotely Thursday and Friday. The storm hit early Saturday morning, and power went out then as well. Power only went back on Wednesday night at the house, and we're still waiting on it to turn back on at the apartment.

Can't wait to see some of you next week!

Edit by Kristina

As of 9/23, the power is FINALLY back on at our apartment! We'll have to wait until after the trip to Michigan before we go back though...! No damage to anything, we're very, very lucky.

Hi!

Welcome to the new blog of Eric and Kristina Tung!

It's a place to keep up with Eric, Kristina, the pregnancy, stuff going on in our lives, and to see pictures of what we've been up to!

Right now, we're really excited to be going to Michigan in a few weeks for the baby shower! We absolutely can't wait. This is Eric's second trip to Michigan (the first was on business), and my first time back since moving to Houston last year. We're both looking forward to the fall weather and seeing family!
